Baked Ziti

(serves 6)

Ingredients:
1 pound dry ziti pasta (or rigatoni pasta)
2 pounds ground sausage
1 (67 ounce) spaghetti sauce
6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
1 (½ cup) sour cream
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
Grated Parmesan cheese
Some salt and butter

Directions:
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water and a tablespoon of butter to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until done (about 15 minutes). Drain and rinse.

In a skillet, brown the sausage and then drain. Return the sausage to the pan and add the spaghetti sauce. Cover and simmer.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter a 9×13 inch baking pan.

Layer the pan as follows: ½ ziti, ½ sausage mix, provolone cheese, a thin layer of sour cream, remaining ziti, remaining sausage mix, and cover with mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and allow guests to sprinkle Parmesan cheese upon their serving if desired.
