This is very interesting to me as my Grandmother is the younger half-sister of Paxton T. Carter. I grew up hearing about the Arizona and Great Uncle Paxton from my grandmother, in fact my mother still has that time life magazine from '81 (it indeed has Brooke shields and a horse on the cover). My Grandfather was given a book sometime in the early 90's called U.S.S. Arizona and there was quite a bit of info in that book about PTC as well. If I remember correctly there is a photo of him with a young child, and another of him with a sailor friend. Anyway thank you Mr. Deter for sharing about your mother and my great uncle, she sounded like a tremendous lady.

I agree, I did use artificial sweetener and stivia in my coffee and tea and it did not seem to affect the diet. But I know it would be healthier not to eat it.

I didn't think about the body's lack of sugar slowing me down. That is a good point! I can't wait for the adjustment of not needing so much sugar anymore to kick in. Sugar is such a crutch. I never thought that I could drink my coffee black, and now I really enjoy it! Sweet tea... the staple of the South... entirely not necessary! I think more so than anything else, this is a great start to healthier eating habits in the future!

Congratulations. I feel that the tiredness was partly that my body was going through this change from bad stuff to good and especially off of sugar and I think I really needed the extra sleep...was always running on sugar and I also found on this diet that anytime I felt hungry or tired I needed more water. It really takes a lot of water to flush out the bad stuff. This diet is still the best thing that ever happened to me...I hope you find as I did that at the end of the 30 days my appetite was quite different and that allowed me to suspend the weight loss. Keep up the good work and if you have a weak moment call me and I will give you a pep talk. Love you, Mom "Turner"

OK, scratch what I said about scheduling surgeries more often. That was pain like I cannot ever recall experiencing.

Diane, You had me worried yesterday when we got home. I kept wondering if we need to go ahead and call the Dr. back. But you were right, I didn't feel like I was able to help you at all. The only thing that I was able to help was to try and keep Roxanne off of you. But when we woke up this morning I was happy to hear that you were not in pain. But I want you to know that there is no other place that I had rather be than here.

I Love You

Diane, I'm so glad you are doing well. Janice and I were both concerned and Justin said last night that you would be feeling better today. What great news.I think in all your blogs, you may have a good start to an autobiography. You do an excellent job at details. Not sure I could have been that complete.

We love you,
Dad & Mom
